MIL Shipping AS is a ship brokering company with main focus on specialized projects. Our main focus is on Aquaculture, Energy, Passenger ang Fisheries. We are involved with Newbuilding, S&P, Chartering, Advisory and Valuations.
At MIL Shipping AS, we are committed to conducting our operations with integrity, responsibility, and respect for fundamental human rights. In accordance with Åpenhetsloven, which came into effect on July 1, 2022, we actively work to promote transparency and ensure responsible business practices throughout our operations and supply chains.
What is Åpenhetsloven?
The Transparency Act is a Norwegian law that requires larger companies to:
- Conduct due diligence assessments related to human rights and decent working conditions.
- Report openly on how they manage and mitigate risks related to these issues.
- Respond to public inquiries regarding how the company addresses potential and actual adverse impacts.
How MIL Shipping Meets These Requirements
Assessments
We regularly carry out assessments of the working conditions in our supply chains and business partnerships. Amongst others we carry out regular visits to the shipyards we are closely working with.
Risk Management
We map out our supply chains and assess potential risk areas. Based on our findings, we implement appropriate measures to reduce and manage risks — including engaging with suppliers and partners to promote improvements.
Transparency and Reporting
MIL Shipping maintain an open dialogue with stakeholders and welcome inquiries about how we address human rights and ethical standards.
We have integrated ethical standards into our internal policies, including codes of conduct for employees. All parties we work with are expected to adhere to the same principles of fairness, safety, and respect for workers’ rights.
Contact us
In line with Åpenhetsloven, anyone has the right to request information on how MIL Shipping addresses actual impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.
On a general basis we consider the risk of Mil Shipping causing or contributing to breach of human rights and/or decent working conditions to be low. Our business partners, both suppliers and customers, are relatively few and are mainly well established Norwegian and International companies. The Shipyards we are working with are also on a regular basis being assed by their customers and financial institutions which are involved in the relevant projects.
